| Hunt country: |
We meet in the South and East Gipsland regions of Victoria as well as the Casterton- Hamiliton area. Very friendly family orientated and welcoming club, with many social activities in the non hunt season. |
| History: |
Melbourne Hunt established in 1853 at kirks bazzar in what is now the CBD of Melbourne. after many moves we are now in Pakenham Victoria and have the oldest continuous pack in Australia. Our Pack descends from foundation stock imported from County Carlow in Ireland. Throughout the years imports from the UK have been used to preserve and perpetuate our pack |
|
Our season starts with Autumn meets in late Feb we have a long weekend away in Casterton over the easter weekend then our season proper commences in May and we have our last meet in August and finish the season off with the Royal Melbourne Show and many social functions. A book the Hounds are running was written by Heather Ronald about our pack and there is a saying about our hounds and our hunt...."they will always meet at 11.00" |
